The AdBlue (SCR) system injects a urea solution into the exhaust to cut nitrogen oxide emissions. When the NOx sensor, AdBlue pump, heating element or injector fails, a warning light comes on and the car drops into limp mode — many models also warn that the engine will not restart after a set number of kilometres.
Voltimoto handles AdBlue removal and delete in Tallinn in software: we disable SCR monitoring in the ECU, so the car no longer drops into restricted mode because of an AdBlue fault. We save the original software before every job, so the change can be reversed.

When does AdBlue removal help?
Typical signs that the AdBlue system has failed and clearing the fault codes no longer helps:
- AdBlue or engine warning light on, with recurring SCR/NOx fault codes
- A warning that the engine cannot be restarted after a set distance
- Power loss or limp mode
- A failed NOx sensor, AdBlue pump, heating element or crystallised injector
- An expensive quote for repairing the system with original parts
AdBlue removal, delete or coding out?
AdBlue removal, AdBlue delete, AdBlue off and coding AdBlue out all mean the same job: SCR monitoring is switched off in the ECU software and the related fault codes are cleared. Our service is software-based; mechanical work is a separate matter, which we always discuss for the specific car before booking.
Before any work we run car diagnostics to confirm the fault really is in the AdBlue system — so a system is never deleted when the real fault lies elsewhere.
If the car also has DPF or EGR problems, see our AdBlue, DPF and EGR removal service — several systems together costs less than one at a time.
AdBlue removal and roadworthiness testing
To say it plainly: removing an emissions system makes the vehicle non-compliant with current emissions requirements, and such a car should not pass a roadworthiness test. Software AdBlue removal is therefore intended for vehicles not used on public roads — track use or special-purpose machinery, for example.
If the car has to stay road-legal, the right route is diagnosing and repairing the original system. Get in touch and we will help work out what is actually wrong.
How does an AdBlue delete work?
The whole job is done in the ECU software over a diagnostic cable — usually within one working day.
Call or send an enquiry — tell us the make, model, engine and any fault codes you know.
Diagnostics: we read the ECU fault codes and confirm the problem really is the AdBlue system.
We save the original software, write the modified software to the ECU and clear the related fault codes.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AdBlue delete?
An AdBlue delete, or coding AdBlue out, is a change to the ECU software that switches off SCR system monitoring. The ECU then no longer raises AdBlue-related fault codes or puts the car into limp mode because of them.
Is AdBlue removal a software or a mechanical job?
Our service is software-based — we change the ECU software so that system monitoring and the related fault codes go away. Mechanical work is a separate matter, which we always discuss for the specific car before booking.
How much does AdBlue removal cost?
Electronic removal is listed at 200–350 €. The exact price depends on the ECU type and how many systems are switched off at once — see the full price list or ask for a free quote and we will reply the same working day.
How long does an AdBlue delete take?
Most jobs are done within one working day. We confirm the exact time after diagnostics, because reading and writing ECUs differs between models.
Can the change be reversed later?
Yes. We save the original software before every job, so the original configuration can be restored. Software work carries a lifetime warranty.
Will the car pass a roadworthiness test after AdBlue removal?
No. Removing an emissions system makes the vehicle non-compliant with current emissions requirements, and such a car should not pass a roadworthiness test. Software removal is intended for vehicles not used on public roads.
